ABOUT STUART

Find clarity, focus and perspective to achieve career success
and still have a life.

I am an internationally recognised and respected coach who has an in-depth understanding of law firms. I provide an objective and confidential sounding board using coaching techniques to create space for you to think more deeply and reflectively about where you are going and where you want to be.

Law firms provide unique challenges for career advancement. Sometimes creativity is having complete freedom, no restrictions; other times, it's the limitations and boundaries that inspire us to be creative and innovative. It is easy to get caught up in being very busy but not moving forward, or not in the direction you want to. There is just no time or space to think, let alone act.

In a safe and supportive environment, I can help you create insight and awareness through challenging your thoughts and assumptions, and providing the tools and strategies that actually make a difference.

I’m pragmatic, sometimes idealistic, often irreverent – love a good Oscar Wilde quote or two. I’m driven by the desire to make a difference in people’s lives – it’s sometimes small changes that have the biggest impact.

I started out my career as an academic but was struck down by chronic illness in my early twenties, which had me reconsidering my life and values. It doesn't define me, but it influences everything I do. I appreciate the frailty of life and relish the importance of making the most of what we have.

Having embarked on a coaching career, I soon found myself working with a Patent Attorney and it struck me that personalities attracted to the law, the practice of law, and the nature of the law firm really lend themselves to the benefits of coaching.

I’ve been focusing on lawyers ever since and had the absolute pleasure of working with some fantastic clients and been a part of their success. My thought leadership has appeared in The Australian, SMH and the Asian Wall Street Journal. CEO magazine, Lawyers Weekly and The Australasian Lawyer.
